From selected from vineyard parcels grown on the Estate Vineyard at Dixons Creek. Vineyards planted from 1987 to 1994.
2014 was a very low cropping year and was relatively warm. The wines are bright and plump and have quite a lot of hidden power.
Bright and deep with garnet edge. Ripe, concentrated, hints of leafiness, black currant and cedar wood. Sweet dark fruits, silky layered tannins, charming and characterful.
Classic ageworthy Cabernet with some varietal leafiness, depth and concentration.
Fruit is destemmed, crushed and tipped into 14 tonne vats. The fruit is macerated for 15-30 days, then pressed and settled for a week. The wine is then racked to new and used casks where it matures for 14 months. The individual batches are racked from cask, aerated and returned every three to four months before blending and bottling.
Alc/Vol 13.5%, pH 3.59, TA 6.1 g/L
