TASTING NOTE
Complex nose with, pink grapefruit, white nectarine, pastry, & nougat aromas. Soft palate of lemon curd, baked pastry and brioche flavours. Wrapped up in Tumbarumba’s hallmark acidity which gives great drive and length to the wine.

WINEMAKER John CoughlanVINEYARDThe grapes for this wine come from Frank & Christine Minutellos oldest Chardonnay block planted to Penfolds Clone in 1981 at there Tooma Vineyard in the Maragle Valley of Tumbarumba. The Minutellos are pioneers of the Tumbarumba region being one of only 2 farmers to establish a vineyard in the early 80’s. The site has an elevation of 550m with a soft Easterly Aspect. Grown on decomposed Granite soils. SEASONHarvested in early March 2021. 2021 was a mild summer with intermittent rains which kept the fruit fresh. Tumbarumba's altitude means a slow even ripening. Yields were moderate at 14T/Ha. Producing a wine of great intensity. WINE STYLE
Cool climate Chardonnay with altitude. WINEMAKINGMachine harvested. Juice was held on skins for an extended period to extract flavour and texture. Then pressed to new, 2 year old & mainly 3 year old Hogs French Hogs. 20% were new. Wild fermentation, infrequent stirring. Out of barrel after 10 months in January 2022.
