Rose 2024
SUMMARY
Modern classic winery, with respect for tradition. Situated in the north-east corner of Victoria, it is one of the most progressive and diverse viticultural regions in Australia.
TASTING NOTE
Our dry style Rosé is made from a blend of Grenache, Grenache Blanc, and Shiraz grapes. The wine has inviting aromas of strawberries, pomegranate, and confectionery. The palate is full of soft red berry flavours, subtle confectionery, with a hint of spiciness from the Grenache. Serve chilled to fully enjoy the crisp dry blend of sweet berry fruit, pepper and spice.

Food Match | REGION RutherglenWINEMAKER Marc ScalzoVINEYARDOur Grenache is grown at the De Bortoli Shelley’s vineyard on the eastern edge of the Rutherglen region. The site produces a dry savoury Rosé wine with brightness and poise. The Grenache Blanc is from the Melville’s Vineyard, from an east facing site that enhances delicate varietal definition and flavour, whilst our Shiraz is from the Burgoyne’s Vineyard which we pick early to capture fresh red berry characters. SEASONRutherglen experienced a wetter than average Spring and very mild yet consistent temperatures. This resulted in ideal growing conditions in which the vines flourished. These conditions continued into December and January but without any extreme events. The season started one week earlier than average with all whites coming in disease free yet with good varietal flavours due to the cooler season. From the start of February there was no significant rainfall and the temperatures stayed consistently warmer than average. As the season progressed and the vineyards continued to dry out, the red grapes became more concentrated and intense, whilst still maintaining their freshness. All reds were picked in optimal condition and the 2024 vintage promises to be one of the standout vintages of the last 10 years. WINE STYLEDry Rosé WINEMAKINGAfter a short period soaking on skins at less than 10℃, the ‘pink’ juice is drained to capture the delicate, pretty, sweet fruit characters before any of the tannins have been extracted. The two Grenache varieties are co-fermented, whilst the Shiraz is kept separate for later blending. Aromatic yeast selection and a cool fermentation temperature have produced a fruit driven and delicious Rosé. WINE ANALYSISAlc/Vol: 12.5 %, pH: 3.32, TA: 6.11 g/L CELLARINGDrink now & enjoy!
